Canada strongly believes in keeping families together. Through the Family Sponsorship Program, Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their loved ones to come and live with them permanently in Canada.
At G Square Immigration, we specialize in navigating the complex sponsorship process with care, accuracy, and commitment β so your family reunification journey is smooth and stress-free.
If you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you may be eligible to sponsor:
Spouse or Common-Law Partner
Dependent Children (biological or adopted)
Parents and Grandparents (through the PGP Program)
Other Relatives in specific situations (like orphaned siblings, nieces/nephews, or a lone relative if you have no other family in Canada)
π Note: All sponsored family members must meet eligibility and admissibility requirements.
As a sponsor, you must:
β
Be 18 years or older
β
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
β
Live in Canada (or prove intent to return if abroad)
β
Be able to financially support the sponsored family member
β
Not be in prison, bankrupt, or under a removal order
β
Sign a sponsorship agreement committing to support your relative
For most family sponsorships, especially parents and grandparents, sponsors must meet Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) thresholds for the past 3 years.
G Square Immigration helps you calculate this and ensures you meet financial obligations before you apply.
Spouse or Partner: ~6β12 months
Dependent Children: ~6β12 months
Parents/Grandparents: 12β24 months (subject to intake caps)
Other Relatives: Varies depending on the relationship and country of origin
